Xd Out
Xd Out (pronounced ext out) originally formed in Pennsylvania back in 1999 by two brothers Chris and Josh Haynes who both had a desire to use Rock music as a communicative medium. Thus the band formed with the sole purpose of marrying Rock n' Roll with a positive message. However, their sound can best be described as uplifting Hard Rock with a Metal attitude.
Xd Out has three full-length releases to their credit with their self-titled album being released in 2001. On this original release, the band was comprised of Vocalist/Bassist-Chris Haynes, Guitarist-Joshua Haynes, & Drummer-Len Spinelli. In 2003, the band followed up their debut with their sophomore release titled 'Awakening'. Their follow-up release finds the band still comprised of original members while they continue to show their desire to rock the earth with a positive message of hope. Shortly after the release of 'Awakening', the group took one last walk off the stage and went their separate ways taking a 14 year hiatus. However, to the surprise of their fans, in 2017 Xd Out entered the studio once more to produce their third full-length album simply titled 'Better Day'. With the release of 'Better Day' we find a band rested and poised to take on the world. However, with such a long time between their sophomore and third release one might expect a few changes to the line-up. The only change to the roster came by way of original member Len Spinelli being replaced by Drummer Dave Brudnicki.

In 2017 Xd Out released their third full-length album titled 'Better Day'. This release finds the band dropping the hammer with thunderous Drums, memorial guitar licks, and enough hooks to hall in leviathan. Better Day' features tracks produced by Grammy/Dove award winning guitarist & producer Barry Blair(Audio Adrenaline). 'Better Day' was produced by the team at SI Studios including Engineer - Joe "Wiggy" Wegleski, and Mastered by Tom Borthwick.
Vocalist Chris Haynes does a good job of varying his vocal styles keeping this project interesting throughout repeat listens. There are moments where the harmonies bring to mind such bands as the Beach Boys and then there are tracks where the Vocals and arrangements take us for a ride into heavier - almost Metal territory. As one listens to this release, one thing that's stands out is the the uplifting sound that manifests itself through the tight arrangements, lyrics, and Vocal deliveries.
There's nothing lacking in the guitar department where we find shredder Josh Haynes at work delivering everything from heavy driving riffs to Power to Grunge style play accompanied by general noodling.
With Guitarist-Josh Haynes having moved to los Angeles, CA back in 2013, Xd Out has had to overcome the challenge of distance during the recording process of this project. However, with his brother Chris having stayed in Pennsylvania, the group has become a bi-coastal band allowing them to potentially have a larger fan base.

The band's lyrics are uncompromising and often move into praise & worship to the Maker of all things. Other lyrics deal with the Saviors love, Jesus' sacrifice, change, grace, redemption/salvation, and security in Christ. The following lyric shows the band's love for the Lord and gives a good idea to what one can expect to find lyrically throughout this 2017 release:
"Just One Way"
I can see it on Your face
The look of distress
You're seeking other ways
To save You from this mess
Just One Way To save Your life
Just One Way To make it right
Forgive me for my sin
Cleanse me from within
The Blood that was shed
Raised me from the dead
Just One Way To save Your life
Just One Way To make it right
In Jesus' name You'll find life
Just One Way To make it right
He's the Way, the Truth, and the Life
no man goes to God Except through Him
One way to the Father, One way to the Father
Just One Way To save Your life
Just One Way To make it right
In Jesus' name You'll find life
Just One Way He made it right
