Rainforce
Rainforce hails from Switzerland and was formed by Guitarist-Andy La Morte as an international Hard Rock project back in 2015. Just two years after their conception, the band released their debut full-length album titled ‘Lion’s Den’ which was released on the Roxx Records label in 2017. The 'Lion's Den' line-up was comprised of core members Jordan Cutajar(Nomad Son, ex-Pÿlon)-Vocals, Andy La Morte(ex-Disobedience, ex-Pÿlon)-Guitars, Matt Brand(Pÿlon)-Bass, and Benjamin Mann(Power Of God, Whysmansa!d)-Drums. Rainforce's debut also included some world renown special guests - Rex Carroll(Whitecross) and Jim La Verde(Barren Cross).
When it comes to their moniker the band had the following to say: "Well, finding a good catchy band name that is still available is not an easy thing. After a few ideas, I wanted to call the band REINFORCE from
"to reinforce" which was the perfect term for what I felt at this time back then for my faith in Christ and also for my style of music. Then I discovered on the Internet that there are some other bands with the same name within the US. So I decided to look for another band name because I knew that my first album would be released and promoted mostly in America. Thank God, I found the Name RAINFORCE, which is the combination of "Rain" and my first idea - "to reinforce". Rainforce sounds good and Looks good, haha. The "RAIN" stands for one of the four elements which humanity tries but still cannot tame the elements. God created them and gave them the force they have. Rain also stands for all the good and bad things Rain stands for: The re-freshness after a Long hot summer period, the water we need, and the flood it can bring...There are so many meanings behind the bands name... and I think it all fits perfect to my style of music and my lyrics. However, I also have absolutely no problem when people don't want to see a deeper meaning in the band's name. That's OK, because the term Rainforce is catchy enough and It does not necessarily need a deeper meaning. The main thing is that the name remains in the memory of all Metal heads."

Some of the band's musical influences include Krokus, Petra, Leviticus, Nazareth, Alice Cooper, The Sweet, and Whitecross.
In 2019 Rainforce released their follow-up sophomore 4-track EP titled 'Rock And Roll'. Once again, the band has produced a quality EP offering and released it on the Roxx Records label. The mix is not overly polished and their sound comes across crisp and clear. With this follow-up release we find Rainforce doing what they do best and that is straight up in your face classic 80's style Rock and Roll(pun intended). This sophomore release sees the return of core members Jordan Cutajar(Nomad Son, ex-Pÿlon)-Vocals, Andy La Morte(ex-Disobedience, ex-Pÿlon)-Guitars, Matt Brand(Pÿlon)-Bass, and Benjamin Mann(Power Of God, Whysmansa!d)-Drums. In addition, there are some special guest that lent a helping hand including Marc Burgherr-Additional Guitar on track 1, Oliver Schneider(Exile Rd, Pÿlon, Minsk Security)-Solo Guitar on track 2, Keyboard on track 3, and Michael“Ano”Piranio(Whysmansa!d, ex-Destruction, ex-Ephemera’s Party)-Solo Guitar on

Frontman-Jordan Cutajar hails from Malta and was previously known as lead vocalist for Nomad Son & Pÿlon. Jordan Cutajar captures the magic of the 80's in his vocal delivery drawing comparisons to such vocalists as Angus Young(AC/DC) and David Robbins(X-Sinner 'Get It'). Cutajar commands the stage with his delivery and one thing that I can appreciate is his Maltese accent that often makes its presence known within the mix. These kind of details help set Cutajar apart from other similar vocalist of the same genre, giving him more distinction in his delivery.
Rainforce considers themselves a Hard Rock band however, when one takes into consideration the vocals of Jordan Cutajar we are given a strong deciding factor in the bands genre placement. With that said, I believe that the band's overall sound leans more towards the Metal genre which, in turn, should make all Metal heads extremely happy and allow us to Rock on!:)

Andy La Morte is the Songwriter for the band and does a good job of expressing
the band's faith in their lyrics. The following are some lyric excerpts from various tracks:
the band's faith in their lyrics. The following are some lyric excerpts from various tracks:
"Rock And Roll"
The world around us
Is constantly changing
But really good songs
Stay really good songs
Some things never
Came to an end
My faith in Christ
And my love for Rock and Roll
"In Good Hands"
Lord you know it's not all perfect
You know every shaded of my life
But when I'm weak
You are Strong
You are by my side
You are my reality
Like every breath I take
Your Spirit is guiding me
And I trust in You
"The Lost Sheep"
A Shepherd counted all his sheep
by the last light of the day
One by one he knows their names
They listen to His voice
Suddenly he realized that there was something wrong
A little sheep has not come home
one of his sheep is lost
The little sheep had gone away
as the sun stood high...
The world around us
Is constantly changing
But really good songs
Stay really good songs
Some things never
Came to an end
My faith in Christ
And my love for Rock and Roll

My only complaint with this EP effort is that with the total running time only clocking in at about 16 min, the band has left me hungry for more. Hopefully in the near future we will see another full-length release from this talented Swiss band. Rainforce is for fans of such bands like X-Sinner, AC/DC, GX Project and Bride. Pick up your copy of the band's latest release and let's Rock And Roll!
