P.K. Mitchell is a Metal/Hard Rock musician originally from Southern CA who now resides in Nashville TN. P.K. Mitchell has worked with a number of artists such as Greg Chaisson(Badlands) Jeff Martin(Badlands/Racer X) Robyn Kyle Basauri(Red Sea) Glen Mancaruso(Vengeance Rising), Larry Farkas(Vengeance Rising), Neon Cross, Nailed, Barren Cross, Bride, Arklo, Impaler, and many more. At an early age, Mitchell began listening to bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Three Dog Night, The Rolling Stones, and CCR just to mention a few. These influences led to Mitchell taking up the guitar and learning to play in his early teens. When he was a senior in High School at age 15, Mitchell & friend/guitarist-Don Webster formed a band called 'Quality Trash' where Mitchell cut his teeth on the electric guitar doing covers of different mainstream bands. It was at this time, back in 1981, when both Mitchell & Webster were born again and had a new desire to serve the Lord. In 1982 they both formed a band called 'Neon Cross' and began playing clubs in Hollywood. In 1984 Neon Cross released a 4-track EP titled 'Frontline Life'. Then in 1987 two of the band's songs were featured on a compilation album called 'California Metal' which garnered the band some recognition. In 1987 Neon Cross went on to release their self-titled debut album 'Neon Cross' on Regency Records. It wouldn't be for another 8 years before fans would hear from the band again. In 1995 Neon Cross released their sophomore full-length album simply titled 'Torn'.
In the latter part of 1988, P.K. Mitchell began working on 15 songs with inspiration taken from traditional church hymns. In 1991 he signed with Patriot Records and stepped into the studio to began recording. In 1993 P.K. Mitchell released his critically acclaimed full-length album titled 'All Hail The Power: The Rock Hymns Project' on Patriot Records. This release by finds Mitchell re-envisioning 15 well-known classic hymns and bathing them in Metal vocals, heavy guitars, and pounding drum lines. Mitchell's hymns aren't the tame variety that one would normally find playing in a traditional church. However, if they ever were performed in front of the church, the band would find themselves in front of a panel of elders facing church discipline... forced to give an explanation for their lack of traditional conformity. Ha ha!
From track to track 'All Hail The Power: The Rock Hymns Project' features a number of different vocalists including 1. Amazing Grace(Robin Kyle Basauri), 2.Nothing But The Blood(Dave Oliver), 3. Trust And Obey(Dana Hiett), 4. Oh How I Love Jesus(Dave Oliver), 5.Leaning On The Everlasting Arms(Robin Kyle Basauri), 6. Take My Life(Dave Oliver), 7. Onward Christian Soldiers(Ken Pike), 8. All Hail The Power(Dana Croucier), 9. Jesus Paid It All(Russ Painter), 10. God Be With You (Till We Meet Again)(Robin Kyle Basauri). Some of you might had noticed 3 different tracks fronted by vocalist-Robin Kyle Basauri who is known for his work with bands like Red Sea, Die Happy and Joshua Perahia.
P.K. Mitchell isn't the first Christian Metal/Rock artist to release a praise album based on traditional hymns as we find in 1989 Petra had an album titled 'Petra Praise:The Rock Cries Out' which was also released in a Spanish version. Then in the early 1990's pastor-Bob Beeman started a ministry called 'Sanctuary-The Rock and Roll Refuge' which was the church's worship music ministry band. Sanctuary's first worship music-leader was none other than Michael Sweet(Stryper) who was later replaced by bassist-Jim LaVerde(Barren Cross). In 1991 'The Rock and Roll Refuge' produced an album titled 'Sanctuary Praise' and in 1992 'Sanctuary Praise' went on to release a second album titled 'Hiding Place'. That same year, in 1992, we saw another rocked-up hymns project strikingly titled 'Metal Praise'. This is a compilation album featuring a number of big hitters like Glenn Kaiser(Rez), Rex Carroll(Whitecross), Les Carlsen(Bloodgood), and Rey Parra(Sacred Warrior) just to mention a few. A more recent band on the scene producing Metalized hymns is 'Scandinavian Metal Praise' who has released two different albums with their debut self-titled album in 2008 and their follow-up in 2015 titled 'Glory & Power:
Part 1.'

Mitchell while recorded & mixed at Starland Sound in Nashville Tennessee. This 2013 offering features vocalist-Robin Kyle Basauri(Red Sea, Die Happy, Joshua Perahia) along with shredder-P.K.
