Peter118 is a British Punk Rock band from Stoke, England that formed back in 2014 by Peter Szczepanski. before the band's conception, Peter cut his teeth as a musician in a secular band called 'Senseless'. However, in 2005 Peter became a Christian and had a new burning desire to use his skills to play faith based music for the Lord. It wouldn't be until 2012 before Peter joined the British Punk band 'Ambassadors of Shalom' as vocalist/bassist and went by the alias-Peter Field. In 2014 'Ambassadors of Shalom' released their debut full-length album titled 'Abdicate Self' on Thumper Punk Records. That same year, Peter decided to form his own band and chose the moniker Peter118. The idea for the band's moniker was taken from Peter Szczepanski's first name in combination with Psalm 119:8, which is where the 118 derives from, and the verse states: "I will keep thy statutes; O do not utterly forsake me."
After choosing a moniker Peter still needed a band and he didn't have to look far for the first member who was his wife Janine Szczepanski on bass. Peter then contacted his friend Sam Critchley to play drums for the band and he quickly came on board completing this three-piece outfit. The group started as an acoustic line-up and later on became a full band. The group "speared the gospel through Punk"- going into seculars venues, bars, and clubs to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Some of the group's influences include bands like Green Day, Rancid, The Offspring , The Clash, Sham 69, and Blink-182.

In 2015 Peter118 released their 7-track debut EP titled 'Make It Or Break It' in conjunction with both Thumper Punk Records & In Presence Records. 'Make It Or Break It' is a studio album which was recorded at Loudnoise Productions. This was a solid debut offering with some of the band's strongest and best tracks being found here. With the release of 'Make It Or Break It' this British Punk band began to be noticed by fans of the genre abroad allowing them the opportunity to establish a fan base.
The track-list for this 2015 EP includes 1.Dont Listen To A Word I Say 2.Radio 3.Break 'Em Out

In 2016 Peter118 released their 5-track EP titled 'Need You More' on Thumper Punk Records. 'Need You More' was a solid follow-up sophomore offering by the band. This release continues in the veins of their debut EP and is more for fans of Pop Punk music.
The track-list for 'Need You More' includes 1.Need You More(Featuring - Lisa Cox), 2.Everything About Me 3.Where I Am 4.Make Up My Mind 5.Need You More (Pop Mix).

In 2017 Peter118 combined forces with New Jersey based Punk band 'No Lost Cause' to release a 6-track compilation EP titled 'In Stereo' in conjunction with Thumper Punk Records & In Presence Records. One track worth noting here is track-2 "Wasting" which saw some air time by the legendary radio personality-Rodney Bigenheimer. Rodney is the man credited as the first American DJ to give airplay to the Ramones, Blondie, and Guns & Roses and is known for his ability to spot talent. Another tune worth checking out is track-1 "Seven" which is a Punk cover of Bloodgood's song "Seven" from their 1988 'Rock In A Hard Place' album. BTW, you should check out the guitar work on track-5 "Outcasts" - it doesn't disappoint!
The track-list for 'No Lost Cause' includes 1.Seven(Bloodgood Cover-Peter118) 2.Wasting(Peter118) 3.Follow Him(Peter118) 4.I Stand Amazed(No Lost Cause) 5.Outcasts(No Lost Cause) 6.The Crowd(No Lost Cause).

In 2018 Peter118 joined forces with the Omaha, Nebraska based Punk band 'The Bricks' to release another 6-track compilation recording appropriately titled 'Split EP' on an indie label. This release finds both bands playing straight up Punk Rock. The only issue that I have with this release is on a few of the tracks by 'The Bricks' where the vocalist sounds as if he could benefit from some vocal lessons.
The track-list for 'Split EP' includes 1.Money & Lies(Peter118) 2.Start Thinking(Peter118) 3.For Your Glory(Peter118) 4.Hammers Down(The Bricks) 5.Love Story(The Bricks) 6.Messed Up(The Bricks).

In 2018 Peter118 released a full-length compilation album titled 'Anthology & Live In L.A.' on Raven Faith Records. This double-disc Anthology collection features songs from the band's previous EP releases along with a live recording of the band at 'Harvey's House Of Rebellion' in Los Angeles, California. The band figured while they were on tour in the U.S. to make the best of it by making a live recording of their concert at 'Harvey's House Of Rebellion'. With both discs calculated, there's a solid 45 minutes of Classic Punk adrenalin to be had here.
This compilation project offers plenty of diversity from track to track with various subgenres represented including Punk, Punk Rock, and Pop Punk along with some Crossover. However, The question at hand is: Can a Christian band make it in the world of Punk Rock? Well, we have seen a number of faith based Punk bands who have already helped pave the way for Christian Punk music including bands like The Lead, One Bad Pig, Living Fire, Grave Robber, and The Crucified just to mention a few. So, I would definitely say that the answer to this question is a resounding YES! Today, Punk seems to be making a come back as I just recently did another review of a modern day Punk band called 'Cast The Dragon' who has an original yet familiar traditional sound to their arrangements.

Frontman-Peter Szczepanski plays guitar for the band delivering up traditional Punk & Crossover styles of play.
Peter118 is a "straight edge(sXe)" Punk band in that they refrain from drinking alcohol and
one will find evidence of this in their lyrics on several different tracks. The band's lyrics are
thought provoking and show a love for Jesus Christ as one can see in the following excerpts:

"Break 'Em Out"
Now I found God
He is great
Got my salvation
Jesus is my mate
Now I don't drink anymore
Made my vow not to pour
Now I play Punk everyday
God really shows up on my way
"Follow Him"
Jesus washed away my sin
Turn to Christ and follow Him
Jesus washed away my sin
Can you Say
Turn to Christ and follow Him
"21 Again"
For so many days
The sun was shining down
You Make me feel warm
when I know you are around
Blights come in life
And I know we all pray
And thank Jesus Christ
For you and me
"Perfect King"
Oh perfect King
You said goodbye to Your throne
Held my sin upon Your shoulders
Now I found God
He is great
Got my salvation
Jesus is my mate
Now I don't drink anymore
Made my vow not to pour
Now I play Punk everyday
God really shows up on my way
