​Outside the Shadows 

       Hailing from Oklahoma, 'Outside the Shadows' originally ​formed in 2013 by Marty Binau and Kyle Puga as a praise and worship band. Marty Binau was also playing Drums for another band along side vocalist-Preston Bell. The two bands decided to join forces to form just one band using the praise band's moniker-'Outside the Shadows'. The meaning behind the band's moniker is to shine a light from the outside into the darkness and share Jesus with every individual possible. 
       Preston grew up listening to Rock music so it just came natural for him to share his faith through the medium of Hard Rock. His background in heavier music helped play a big part in making the transition from praise music to Hard Rock much easier for the band.

       Within the same year, after having just formed, Outside the Shadows wasted no time and took to the studio to release their 2013 independent debut full-length album titled 'Forgiveness'. The production is very good for an indie release and could easily be considered AOR-having a strong commercial appeal. The album's arrangements are not lacking in energy as they combine elements of both Modern Rock and 90's era Grunge guitar styles. The thing that immediately grabs your attention about this debut is the vocals of Preston Bell. Preston has a natural ability to mesh lyric nuances with the arrangements of the band. His vocals are smooth and work well with both Grunge and Hard Rock music. Preston Bell also handles Guitars while Drummer-Marty Binau keeps time for the band, and Bassist-Kyle Puga lays down some heavy Bass lines.
       Throughout the years OTS has played along with many amazing bands such as 12 stones, Children 18:3, Blackstar Republic, Smile Empty Soul, Hanging Hayley, Seasons After, Screaming for Silence, Sons of Texas, Sleep Signals, and so many more!
       Outside the Shadows band members draw inspiration from such bands as Skillet, RED, Decyfer Down, Demon Hunter, Sevendust, Seether, 12 Stones, MXPX, Good Charlotte, Chevelle, Memphis May Fire, Tremonti, Creed, Alter Bridge, ETC.

2015
       In 2015 Outside the Shadows released their sophomore follow-up full-length album simply titled 'Ignite'. This sophomore release saw the return of original members ​Marty Binau, Kyle Puga, and Preston Bell. Shortly after having recorded 'Ignite', Marty Binau left the band and was replaced by Drummer-Randy Stroud. This release finds the band moving away from the Grunge sound of their debut to embrace a straight forward fist poundin' Hard Rock sound. The production is tight with the band's arrangements revealing a heavier more mature band.
       When it comes to the band's lyrics - OTS had the following to say, "We enjoy and feel very honored to be able to do what we love for God above and use the music that He gives us to spread a message of hope to the world. And the hope we talk about is none other than Jesus Christ." The following are some excerpts from the band's lyrics:
