Mylon & Broken Heart is an AOR Rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, that was founded back in 1981 by vocalist-Mylon LeFevre. Mylon LeFevre was born into an active Gospel singing family with music coursing through his veins. Mylon wrote his first song "Without Him" at age 17 and the song was then picked up and recorded by Elvis Presley. Throughout the following year, over 100 artists recorded Mylon's songs and he began racking up royalty checks from all over. Mylon garnered some additional exposure when his track "Jesus Hearted People" appeared on the 1974 Atlanta Rhythm Section album titled 'Third Annual Pipe Dream'.
Mylon was living the Rock n' Roll dream and soon began using drugs to take off the edge. As he began to go down a dark and slippery path, Mylon soon became addicted to the drugs he was taking. It wasn't until he had a near fatal overdose that it frightened him enough to ask God for help. Things took a turn for the better when Mylon went to a '2nd Chapter of Acts' concert in 1980. It was there that Mylon asked Jesus to save him & become Lord of his life. After many years of being in the limelight as a Rock artist, Mylon became a janitor at a church while attending bible school. It was during this time that Mylon decided to start writing and playing Christian based music. He soon began forming a new band with a new purpose under the moniker 'Mylon & Broken Heart'. The band's original line-up was comprised of lead vocalist-Mylon LeFevre, lead guitarist-Dean Harrington, guitarist-Mike Adams, bassist-Joe Hardy, organist & synths-Ed DeGarmo, pianist/keyboardist-Stan Coates, and drummer-John Hampton.
After Mylon & Broken Heart's conception, the band got to work on material for a debut release.

In 1982 Mylon & Broken Heart released their full-length debut album appropriately titled 'Brand New Start' on MCA Songbird Records. 'Brand New Start' launched the band into the Christian music industry with an adult contemporary radio friendly sound. Then in 1983, the band followed up with the release of their sophomore album simply titled 'More' on Myrrh Records. This album followed in the veins of the band's debut with more early 80's style Adult Contemporary music. If you are into easy lighthearted music, then you might want to give this record a spin. That same year, Mylon & Broken Heart also released a live album titled 'Live Forever' on Myrrh Records. This is a solid energetic Rocked up release with good production for a live album. With this live project, the band started moving away from their Adult Contemporary sound and showing promise of a heavier direction.
After the release of their live album, the band returned to the studios to hammer out a new recording for a new release.
In 1985 Mylon & Broken Heart released their 4th studio album titled 'Sheep In Wolves Clothing' on Myrrh Records. With just one listen, those into Classic Rock music, will be pleasantly surprised. The album has heart and soul with all the right hooks to keep the listener engaged and coming back for more. This album was a good start for the band in the world of Rock music. Some tracks that stand out on this project include 1.Crucible Of Love 3.I Will Rejoice 5.Morning Star 6.Gospel Ship 7.So Help Me God 8.Trains Up In The Sky 9.The Warrior.
The line-up for 'Crack The Sky' was comprised of lead vocalist-Mylon LeFevre, guitarist-Scott Allen, guitarist-David Payton, bassist-Kenneth Bentley, keyboardist-Paul Joseph, and on electronic drums-Ben Hewitt.

In 1987 Mylon & Broken Heart released their 5th studio album titled 'Crack The Sky' on Myrrh Records. The album gets off to a great start with its first 2 tracks. It's worth mentioning that the album's first track 'Crack The Sky' is the very song that motivated this listener to write this review. However, the project can't decide if it wants to be a Rock album or an adult contemporary release. If this recording would have continued in the same direction as the first two tracks then this would have been a killer release for the band. Unfortunately, after the first two songs, the album loses its energy and goes down hill from there. With that said, there are a few tracks worth checking out like 1.Crack The Sky 2.Love God, Hate Sin 5.I Belong 8.Heart On Fire. With all that said, I must say that
The line-up for 'Crack The Sky' was comprised of lead vocalist-Mylon LeFevre, guitarist-Scott Allen, guitarist-Trent Argante, bassist-Kenneth Bentley, keyboardist-Paul Joseph, and on electronic drums-Ben Hewitt.

In 1988 Mylon & Broken Heart released their 6th studio album titled 'Face The Music' on Star Song Records.
With this release, the band got their engine firing on all cylinders with a solid album that all Classic Rock fans can enjoy. The album features big choruses, energetic arrangements, 80's style guitar play, and all the right hooks. I think something can be said about the band's decision to move from Myrrh to Star Song Records. Some tracks that stand out on this album include 1.Won By One 2.Sixteen 3.Talk To Me 4.Modern Man 5.Mercy Seat 6.Again And Again 7.Change 8.Rock Of Safety 9.Lamb Of God.

In 1989 Mylon & Broken Heart released their 7th studio album titled 'Big World' on Star Song Records.
'Big World' features an epic Arena Rock sound and opens with a killer intro. The band often used this intro as an opener to kick off their concerts. 'Big World' takes things to the next level with solid arrangements, killer guitar play, plenty of big hooks, catchy choruses, and poundin' drums. Some of the songs here, with their arrangements, have that energetic over-the-top Van Halen feel to them. Some tracks that stand out on this '89 release include 1.Big World 2.Love Comes Down 4.Falling In Love 5.Face To Face 6.Jesus, It's You 7.Turn The Tables On Me 8.Remember The Future 10.The Distance 11.Movin' On.

"Big World"
There's a big world out there
And it's waiting just for you
And you and you and you
So let them all see Jesus
In everything you do
Look out, big world!
It's time to stake your claim
In the power of His name
The battle has been won
With the rising of the Son
Yes, it's true
We are strangers in this land
But He said
He'd lead us by His hand
'Cause it's a big world!
"Love Comes Down"
There's no need to be afraid
If you're down and out and
lost the will to fight
Cause God is willing
And He is able
To take a heart you painted blue and make it white
So don't run when Love comes down
You can't hide when you've been found
You gotta face Love
When Love comes down
When you finally reach for help
You can move ahead and leave the past behind
If you are willing
He is able
To let the power of His Word renew your mind
You will e the light of day
If you will trust Jesus, you will find the way
"Face To Face"
Lord, I've been trying for so long
Living my life out in a song
And even though my heart says everything's all-right
A part of me won't be complete until I have You
in my sight
I know (I know)
When I see You face to face
I'm gonna be just like You,
Lord (My Lord)
When I look into Your eyes
I know I'm gonna be like You
