Minier is a Crossover Thrash solo-project that was conceived back in 1990 by musician-Greg Minier.
Greg Minier is better known for his guitar work with the Crossover Thrash band 'The Crucified' who played to sold-out venues in Central CA. The Crucified had a run from 1985 to 1991 with 3 demo recordings and 2 full-length albums to their credit.
Some of Greg Minier's accolades include opening for punk legends - D.R.I.(Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) and GBH(Grievous Bodily Harm) as well as Metal legends - Pantera. Over the years, Minier has proven to be an accomplished axeman who's fret work caught the attention of 'Guitar World Magazine' where he was featured
as an artist.
Greg Minier has a couple of solo albums to his credit with his first being released in 1990 titled 'Minier'. In 1992 Greg formed a different band under the moniker-'Applehead' and released a full-length album titled 'Meaning' on Ocean Records. 'Meaning' finds Greg moving away from his earlier Thrash days and sailing into the uncharted waters of the Grunge scene. Applehead is a one man project with Greg Minier on lead vocals and playing all instruments.
Greg has also lent his talents to such bands like 'Grace and Thieves' where he plays guitar on the song "Anointed For Burial". We also find that in 1991 a remix version of Minier's track-'Do Not Be Deceived', from his 1990 'Minier' release, made its way onto a band compilation album titled 'Argh!!!-The Official R.E.X. Sampler'. Then in 1998 Minier's song "Prophecy", from his 1990 'Minier' release, was featured on a band compilation album titled 'Various-God-Core Chronicles Volume I'.

In 1990 Minier released his debut 7-track self-titled EP album on R.E.X. Records. The recording was produced by Greg Minier along with executive producers Greg Heil, & Chris Colbert. It's nice to see the support that Minier received, on this solo project, from other associate band members because the album's cover art was done by Mark Salomon(The Crucified).
Minier recorded the album at Casbah Recording Studio in Fullerton, California. Greg produced & recorded it on a budget of just 400 dollars within a 2-day period and when it came time to record bass lines, there was no money left in the budget. It was then and there that Minier decided he would not record the bass tracks, figuring if Metallica could produce a bass-less record with their 1988 '...And Justice For All' album then he could do the same.
From the clever vocals to the hammer-poundin' drum lines to the mixed bag of guitar tricks... this album quickly draws the listener in to the glory days of Crossover Thrash. Minier's vocal style and delivery is spot on for the era even drawing comparison to that of vocalist-Mark Salomon(The Crucified). Fans of The Crucified have a lot to get excited over here as many of the band's techniques and vocal styles have found there way onto this solo project.

On this 1990 release, guitarist-Greg Minier is found playing everything from heavy Thrash riffs to fun Punk styles to 90's era noodling with even some Blues play found on the last track to round the album out.
The lyrics are unabashedly Christ centered
and evangelical as one can see in the following excerpts:
and evangelical as one can see in the following excerpts:
"Do Not Be Deceived"
Do not be deceived
By the ruler of this world
Do not be deceived
For the price to pay is hell
Jesus came to this earth
So all men could be forgiven
and live with Him as His children
In the Kingdom of Heaven
Giving your life is easy to do
When you take a look at the stakes
Live eternally, life after death
Receiving Christ is all that it takes
"Prophecy"
The end times have come
But the world doesn't realize what they bring
Fooled by the false prophet's lies
The beast has become the world's king
The mark of the beast has been taken
Placed on the deceived's skin
When God at the White Throne judges
To Hell the mark shall be sent
"Philosophy of Man"
....Jesus Christ loves you
And you don't even care
Jesus opened His arms to you
You nailed them to atree
He offers you His gift of life
You say "That's not for me"
Philosophize there is no wrong
Philosophize all's well
Philosophize there is no God
Philosophize no Hell
Do not be deceived
By the ruler of this world
Do not be deceived
For the price to pay is hell
Jesus came to this earth
So all men could be forgiven
and live with Him as His children
In the Kingdom of Heaven
