Mad Dragzter
2015 has been a great year for Metal music and is shaping up even more nicely with new material from a Thrash band calling themselves 'Mad Dragzter'. There must be something toxic in the water because we are seeing a wave of Thrash Metal bands come on the Metal scene lately. It started with the 2015 'Ancient Prophecy' release with their Thrash infused Power Metal offerings. Then, we saw the 2015 all out Thrash Metal assault by 'Supresion' which I believe caused an epidemic where many head bangers thrashed their hair so hard that when the dust settled, they were forced to purchase wigs. That brings us up to the current 2015 Thrash Metal release by 'Mad Dragzter'. The band hails from São Paulo, Brazil and has personally titled their genre of Thrash-"Brazilian Thrash Metal Attack!!!!!" The band formed back in 1998 By lead Vocalist Tiago Torres and originally went by the moniker 'Bulldozer' however, once they realized that there was another band already using that name, they quickly changed it to 'Dragster'. To the bands dismay, yet another band was already using the moniker 'Dragster' so they added 'Mad' and switched the 's' in Dragster, with a 'z'. The original members were Tiago Torres(Vocals), Gabriel Spazziani(Guitars), Armando Benedetti(Bass), Evandro Junior(Drums).
Mad Dragzter has been busy over the years honing their skills and has to their credit 3 full-length releases 2003-'Strong Mind' , 2006-'Killing The Devil Inside' , and 2015-'Master Of Space And Time'.

'Master Of Space And Time' comes with some hand done album artwork by Sergio Cariello. Sergio is a Renowned comic book artist from the US who has depicted, on this cover, the return of Christ on a white horse with the sword coming forth from His mouth. We can find the band's idea behind the art work in the following biblical text:

"14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."

Over at 'Road to Metal' we find an interview where the band states: "Basically the album talks about from the universe's creation to the end of this age and this universe we live in. And the main characters of that period. The Creator and His work!"
One thing I really like about this 2015 album is that it quickly cranks up to full Thrash furry and doesn't let up till the last chord is struck. Yes, we can see that the band follows closely to the rule 'Thrash Or Be Thrashed'. It is notable that Tiago Torres has his own independent label called 'Army Records' Where the band recorded this 2015 full-length release.
Vocalist Tiago Torres does a great job for the band where he comes across as sounding unique when compared to other Thrash Metal Vocalists in that he isn't a copy of another and has his own unique Vocal delivery. I hear a little flare of Punk attitude in his register which shouldn't be a surprise as Thrash has its roots in Punk.
Our duo guitar team is found in Tiago Torres & Gabriel Spazziani whom both having played guitar for more than 17 years, bring to the table plenty of experience. One tune where the guitar play really stands out is found in "One Nation, One Church" which starts out with some killer galloping Thrash riffs that help to crank the motors up and get one moving. Then there's the insanely fast Speed Metal guitar play similar to early Deliverance albums that shows the depth of the band. Also we find that there is more than just Thrash riffs going on in this project as Tiago & Gabriel spice things up with some melodic guitar here and there throughout the disc.

Armando Benedetti holds his own on the Bass delivering an onslaught of furious chords. I also appreciate that there are some moments that really let the Bass stand out and be heard.
Eric Claros plays the kit where he does more than just keep time. Eric does a great job of mixing up the tempo allowing the listener to hear a lot of different time variances. I really like the raw hammer pound techniques that Eric implements and there are sections when he reaches out with his hammer and pounds the beats into your brain but the purist Thrasher would have it no other way!
The bands Lyrics come across as being Christ centered and uplifting on this album. Hopefully in the near future, I can post some so that we have a better understanding of the band's message.
