Joshua's Creed is a three piece band that draws elements from Classic Rock, Hard Rock, and Thrash to form their unique sound. Joshua's Creed is comprised of Vocalist-Dillon Reynolds(Flawed By Design) hailing from Mount Holly ,North Carolina, Guitarist/Bassist-Derek Close & Drummer-Tanner Mack who both hail from Kalispell, Montana. Founding member Derek Close got his start back in the late 80's and continued through the late 90's in which he played alongside some killer musicians in different bands in the Western Washington area. In the midst of it all he was able to record a couple of band demos with My Cat Puddinhead, Judah and About this Big. From there, Close went on to do a little studio work for a band named Nathan Creek. In the 2000's Derek Close collaborated and recorded with Sanctified on their 2007 release 'Flying High' which inspired him to start work on his own music again. This resulted in the 2011 release of a Christmas instrumental album titled 'In The Christmas Groove' and the release of 'The Beta Sessions' in 2014.
The band is already making their mark with their debut album having made it in at #17 on the Metal Pulse Radio Top 20 Albums for 2016!
Derek Close had the following to say about the band:
Joshua's Creed is a recording project based out of Kalispell, MT. One could go drone on like everyone else about how cutting edge, bleeding edge, razor's edge, leading edge or dropped on the head we are. Or one could also tout how great, different. special, out of the box, revolutionary and what a breath of fresh air we are. The truth is, very few artists, bands and/or musicians are any of the things they claim to be. Joshua's Creed is different in that respect: You be the judge of the music. Let the listener decide if it's good. We're just making music the way we want to make it regardless of what's popular. One thing that has been said about us:
If Iron Maiden and Judas Priest had a love child, it would be Joshua's Creed.

In 2016 Joshua's Creed stepped onto the Hard Rock music scene with the release of their self-titled full-length debut album. With this release, we find the band settling mostly into the Hard Rock scene even though there are some heavier moments where Thrash elements emerge. However, there's much more going on in the arrangements as we can hear a wide range of Classic Rock touches giving the album a slight retro fill at times. The band deserves props for their ability to combine such differing genres into their arrangements especially on a debut release. With that said, the album's production tends to lean slightly towards the raw side which is often the norm when considering bands that include Thrash and Classic Rock elements. Even though the production could benefit from a little more polish, it doesn't distract from the listening experience.
Vocalist-Dillon Reynolds delivers mostly in the mid-range but has the ability to reach some really high notes. I hope on any future releases that Reynolds will be found delivering up even more of these high octane screems which help to add punch to the mix. Another of Reynolds' strong points is the ability to change up his Vocal delivery giving us many different styles which helps to keep the listening experience interesting with repeat listens. Things really get interesting when his vocal delivery takes on a rougher grittier style and the guitars & percussion departments cross the line into near Thrash territory.
Guitarist-Derek Close having already cut his teeth with earlier bands durring the 80's and 90's, deliveres up some quality riffage throughout this debut release. The guitar play ranges from heavy, to driving to Thrash and to Classic Rock guitar play. Derek Close also handles the Bass for JC where we find that the Bass is given many opportunities to surface and shine as he adds more heaviness to the band's overall sound.
Rounding out this 3 piece outfit, Drummer-Tanner Mack keeps time for the band offering up many time changes throughout and making us ask the question: Does he have a background playing with a Thrash Metal band do to his intricate percussion techniques which often reminds of such percussionist as Ted Kirkpatrick(Tourniquet) ?
Joshua's Creed does a good job of relaying stories from the Bible in their lyrics. The stories range from The Creation to Nebuchadnezzar and the Golden statue to the Passover meal to the Crucifixion of Christ to parts of the story of Moses.
"Buried in the Womb"
Under the guise of “The Clinic”
Behind The Great Facade
Another parenthood is planned
By a doctor playing god
What sustains the madness
Where a child must pay the price?
Robbed of their sole possession: The sanctity of life
A civilized society where
Death squads set up shop
Just walk in and pay your fee
While the hitman does his job
A little heart stops beating another silent cry
Ripped from the safety of the womb – fetal genocide
Chorus:
No chance to taste life
Buried in the Womb
No-one to hear their cry
Buried in the Womb
No charge - sentenced to die
Buried in the Womb
No where to run and hide
Buried in the Womb
Bridge:
It's not really murder just the short end of the stick
It's nothing personal it's just good business
Chorus
In a new millennium since Roe vs. Wade
Millions of the silent cries their lives just thrown away
The Devil sits there laughing
Un-mothers mourn and grieve
A nurse cleans up the chopping block
Send in the next one, please!

Those looking to add more Hard Rock with uncompromising lyrics to their collections should take into consideration this debut release Joshua's Creed has offered up. Hopefully we haven't heard the last from this up and coming band because this debut release has left me hungry for more and wanting to see what this band can accomplish on their sophomore release.
