Glenn Kaiser Band is a Blues Rock band from Chicago that saw its conception back in 1999 by vocalist/guitarist-Glenn Kaiser. Glenn's former Blues Metal band Rez Band or Resurrection Band had had a long run that began back in 1973 & lasted all the way up to 1997 with over 17 albums to their credit. With such a long haul, Glenn was lookin' to make some changes to the band and their sound. It was at that time when Glenn contacted former Rez Band members Roy Montroy(Bass) and Ed Bialach(Drums) to create a new band with a more stripped-down Blues Rock sound. Both Roy and Ed came on board and this newly formed 3-piece outfit from the windy city set sail on a new adventure as a band.
Today, the 'Glenn Kaiser Band' already has a number of releases to the band's credit. Their debut was produced in 2000, just one year after the band formed, and was titled 'Winter Sun' on Grrr Records. Then in 2001 they followed-up with the release of their second full-length album titled 'Carolina Moon' on Grrr Records. In 2003 the band showed no signs of stopping when they went on to release their 3rd full-length album simply titled 'Blacktop' on Grrr Records. In 2005 GKB published a 4th album which was a live recording titled 'LIVE-With Special Guest Dave Beegle' on Grrr Records. Then in 2008 the band released their 5th full-length studio album titled 'Octane' on Grrr Records.
In 2001 Glenn Kaiser Band released their follow-up full-length album titled 'Carolina Moon' on Grrr Records. 'Carolina Moon' is one of those albums that stands out amongst other releases as it captures the essence of heart-felt Blues while incorporating a Rockin' edge. Combining these two classic genres was a brilliant move by the band allowing them to appeal to a much broader fan base. 'Carolina Moon' was produced by Glenn Kaiser and Tom Cameron and the album was engineered & mixed by Roger Heiss.
The track-list for 'Carolina Moon' includes 1.Torch 2.Out Cold 3.Mercy 4.Carolina Moon 5.Gonna Meet You At The Station 6.Changin' Wind 7.Country Mile 8.Storm 9.Fuss & Moan 10.Grinder 11.I Forgive You 12.Rooster Crow.
It's worth noting that Carolina Moon's track-12 "Rooster Crow" is a reimagined Blues version of a song that was originally found on Glenn Kaiser's 'Rez' - 'Innocent Blood' album(track-1 "Rooster Crow").

Frontman-Glenn Kaiser offers up some solid blues vocal work on this project. Glenn's vocal delivery draws comparison to singer-Gregg Allman(The Allman Brothers Band : Gold). Fans of Glenn Kaiser's work with Rez Band will find plenty to enjoy here with his performance with GKB.
Glenn Kaiser not only fronts this Chicago based trio but also handles guitars for the band. Glenn's guitar play ranges from crunchy Rock soundin' styles to Bluesy to guitar riffs similar to that of Billy Gibbons(ZZ Top). Rock & Blues fans will both find plenty of tasty guitar licks throughout this well produced album.
Lyrics are Christ centered and evangelical as one can see in the following excerpts:
"Changin' Wind"
Sometimes I remember just the way it felt
Blisters in my ragged soul, blowin' in from hell
Passion that just seemed a ball an' chain
That was my life before the Savior came
It was a changin' wind, a powerful wind
It was a changin', rearrangin' wind
A rearrangin' wind
"Country Mile"
I just got to see Your face, Lord
How I wanna see You smile (2x)
At the end of the road they'll hear us
Shoutin' for a country mile
Life was so strange,
Seemed like nothin' ever came my way
When the nighttime passes
I'll greet You at the break of day
Well I needed shelter, needed to be free
In the mornin' Your love rescued me
"Fuss & Moan"
Ya work all day jus' ta pay your bills
Lookin' for strength to motivate your will
Reachin' for life, yer searchin' for love
In every direction but the one above...
Don't ya know that life is more than fuss and moan
Open your heart, child ó Jesus wants to bring you home
I finally faced the darkness in my own life
Understood people couldn't do me right
"I Forgive You"
I might pass before you,
You might hang around
I might just outlive you,
Either way I forgive you
Yes I do ó I forgive you
(only way to live)
We don't work the same garden
But we had our share of strife
Still I beg your pardon
And I wish you love and life
No matter either way
I may never win you
But I found peace in Jesus
Cuz I forgive you, yes I do
I forgive you
"Mercy"
She forgives but she doesn't deceive me
Oh mercy don't leave me
The radio here by my bed doesn't ring anymore in my head
Mercy!
Mercy came callin' today,
God knows I needed to see her
She came callin' today,
God knows I needed to see her
Callin' today, oh callin' today,
Mercy came callin' today
"Rooster Crow"
What did you say, what did you do
When they asked you who are you
Did you tell 'em Who you know
Did you hear that rooster crow
How will you answer and where will you go
Did you hear that rooster crow
Sometimes I remember just the way it felt
Blisters in my ragged soul, blowin' in from hell
Passion that just seemed a ball an' chain
