From This Fire formed back in 2007 in Tampa, Florida and the group offers up Hard Rock/Nu Metal with touches of crunchy Thrash Metal riffs. From This Fire got their big break in 2009 when they were asked to open up for the 'Sick Puppies' who were playing at the historic St. Theatre in St. Petersburg, Fl. With such exposure, the band went on to open for many different artists including Hurt, Adelitas Way, Adrenaline Mob, Filter, Framing Hanley, Candlebox, Saliva along with many others.
When it comes to the band's concerts, From This Fire states: "We are extremely passionate about what we do and at every show consider the audience a 5th member of the band. If you are looking for energy and mayhem then come see us live! We are waiting..."
In 2010 From This Fire released a a 3-track EP titled 'The Serenade' featuring the tracks 1. Days Go By 2. Good For Nothing 3. Dreams.

In 2010 From This Fire released their debut full-length self-titled album on an independent label. The band's debut hits like a freight train coming in hard and heavy delivering up the Metal goods. FTF is a well seasoned band and it shows on their debut with plenty of hooks and melody to keep listeners coming back for more.
Vocalist-Drew Bell draws comparison to vocalist-Geoff Moore(Geoff Moore and the Distance) however, Drew's delivery is laced with much more grit and intensity. Throughout this release, Drew stays more in the mid-range with his delivery while occasionally letting loose some heavy screams. One thing that I can appreciate about Drew's vocals is that they are clean making it easy to understand what he is trying to communicate.
Guitars come to us from a duo guitar approach with Ben Bowman on lead guitar and frontman-Drew Bell on guitars as well. The guitar work of Bowman & Bell moves from Acoustic to Driving to Crunchy to Melodic- 90's riffs to Heavy Thrash riffs along with some Blues play. With so many different guitar styles represented one can easily see the skill and diversity the guitar section offers up on this debut album.
Drums are handled by Gabe Higgins who does a nice job behind the kit keeping time for the band. Bassist-Drew MacArthur delivers up a solid performance with some heavy bass lines that help to keep things rumbling throughout this project.

Lyrics are overtly Christ centered and evangelical as one can see in the following excerpts:
"Bitter Pill"
Time to kill the bitter pill
Search the skies to get your fill
Everybody deals with pain in their own way
Everybody faces life in their own mind
Nothing satisfies
Nothing fills your heart inside like Jesus Christ
"My Rock"
Your my Rock
Your my strength
I live for Your Love
"I am Crucified"
I am crucified
To myself I die
I am crucified
To Myself I die
"Do You Know?"
Do you know
I'm the One who loves you
Do you know
Do you really Know
Do you know
I'm the One who can take all your pain away
Do you know
Do you really know
Time to kill the bitter pill
Search the skies to get your fill
Everybody deals with pain in their own way
Everybody faces life in their own mind
Nothing satisfies
Nothing fills your heart inside like Jesus Christ
"My Rock"
Your my Rock
Your my strength

"I am Crucified"
I am crucified
To myself I die
I am crucified
To Myself I die
"Do You Know?"
Do you know
I'm the One who loves you
Do you know
Do you really Know
Do you know
I'm the One who can take all your pain away
Do you know
Do you really know
After having written this review, I must say that I'm even more impressed with this band from 'The Sunshine State' and what they have to offer to the Metal community. If you are into bands like Doubledge, Fivestar Prophet, Four Star Revival, 7 Days, or even Geoff Moore & the Distance then you are going to love what 'From This Fire' brings to the table!
