Dispraised is an international Punk Rock band that saw its conception back in 2017 when vocalist-Tom Mong from Idaho began collaborating with guitarist-Donovan Necker from South Africa about the possibilities of forming a Punk Rock band. The band name Dispraised was chosen and the two have been working together ever since. Concerning the band's moniker, Tom Mong had the following to say: "I've always been a huge fan of an old Punk band called DISCHARGE and I've always told myself that if I ever started another Punk band, it would be a "Dis" band. I pulled out the old dictionary and started diggin' through and looking through for words that stood out to me that made sense. Dispraise popped out, and just knowing what the style of stuff we were going to be putting together was and the meaning behind the word, it all worked well and that's how the band name came out."
In 2020 Dispraised released an independent 2-song mini-EP titled 'Same God Modern World'. This mini-EP included tracks 1.The Crown 2.Control. Since they didn't have anyone in the percussionist position, the band used a drum machine during the recording process.
In 2020, Donovan & Tom began recording material for a new album and finished their parts by the end of that same year. However, they didn't want to return to the old drum machine on this release so at the beginning of 2021 they contacted drummer-Justin Ram from Kentucky. Justin quickly came on board to round out the line-up for this 3-piece Punk band. During this time, Justin entered the studio to begin work on material for the percussion parts of the band's debut recording.
In 2022 Dispraised released their debut EP recording titled 'Moral Rot' on Rottweiler Records. 'Moral Rot' is a solid debut release for these veterans of the Punk Rock music scene. Dispraised's arrangements draw from the 70's & 80's old school Punk Rock music scene with their faster more aggressive Punk sound. Thrash and crossover fans have plenty to get excited over here with a few of the tracks incorporating some Speed Metal pedal-to-the-metal energy.
Some tracks that stand out on this 2022 release include track-1 "Babylon's Grip", track-2 "Faith Vultures", track-5 "Into Filth", track-7 "Stand Alone", and track-8 "Division Lines".

Vocalist-Tom Mong's previous bands include REFMusic208, Secrets Known To Liars, and Harvest of Discontent. "These bands were started because I spent 10 years building a ministry and name for myself as a hip hop artist and wanted to get back into the punk scene. I’ve been a part of my local Metal/Punk scene since high school but didn’t have any likeminded Christian’s to do music with, so I started doing hip hop stuff that I could do on my own. The internet changed all of that by offering a way to make music with folks long distance."
When asked about his Influences, Thomas had the following to say: "Too many to name and they’re all over the Place by genre but for me personally, Black Flag, The Misfits, Rancid, Discharge, Bad Brains, and all early punk/hardcore is a huge influence on my writing and style." Tom Mong is a strong vocalist for the band and my only recommendation for future releases is that he varies the vocals a bit more. When the faster tempos hit, it would be nice to see his vocals match better with the tempo of the song adding more energy to the arrangements. There's a good example of how he did this really well in track-7 "Stand Alone".
Donovan de Necker handles Guitars & Bass for the band and is a self taught guitarist. Don had the following to say about his origins as an artist: "I make noise that others turn into music...I am not a musician, just a guy who makes sounds. Started hitting pots and pans at 14 years old, been involved in the punk scene since age 12." Over the years, Don has cut his teeth playing for a number of bands including Disfunctional Animals, Broken, The Old-Timers, Ritalin, and The B-listers. Some bands that have played a part in Influencing Don over the years include Chet Atkins, Bangles, Suicidal Tendencies, Crass, Rudimentary Peni, Heart, vanilla Ice, EMF, KFDM, Prong, Beatles, Donovan, Chuck Berry, Judas Priest, Ned's Atomic Dustbins, Pennywise, L7, and S.O.D.
Justin Ram plays drums for the band and is known for his work with Grave Robber and The Jericho Harlot. Justin does a good job of keeping things interesting with plenty of time changes from track to track.

Concerning lyrics, Punk Rock lyrics are usually in your face and confrontational; they often focus on social and political topics. According to Tom Mong: "We are just 3 dudes that want to live our lives how we see fit according to our personal beliefs. As stated before we are supporters of liberty in politics and liberty in Christ."
While reading the lyrics, the listener will find that, with some of the songs, the band takes a hard look at their life and asks some honest questions much like what we find Solomon doing throughout the book of Ecclesiastes. The following are some excerpts taken from the band's lyrics:

"Faith Vultures"
Do not listen to what these teachers are prophesying to you
They fill you with false hopes
They speak visions from their own minds
Not from the mouth of the LORD
They lie in Jesus' name
God has not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them
They are prophesying to you false visions,
Divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds
Be not deceived
Faith vultures feed on the weak
"Into Filth"
There will be no more stress or
Frustration on that final day
But there’s no sense in wishing for an end
I’m here now searching for answers
Will I find them or will they find me?
Hope I’m ready if I’m caught off guard screaming
Putrid and satanic these people are sick
Their minds have been twisted
They think they're okay
Killing each other over frivolous things
Raping their own and watching them bleed
Selling their children to perverted old bureaucrats
To molest and fondle to their hearts content
In the trash cans there’s babies
Or at least there’s some pieces Ripped from the womb
"Slowly Dying"
But we’re not of this world
Our efforts won’t save our souls
We are not of this world
The truth is that this life is nothing more than
A pit stop on our journey into eternity
This flesh, these bones are volatile
And in the end, it all decays
Everything you worked for
The titles, promotions, money and the lack thereof
Is all worthless and futile
"Stand Alone"
We know that we are children of God
And that the whole world
Is under the control of the evil one
We also know that the Son of God
Has come and has given us understanding
So that we may know him who is true
And we are in Him who is true
By being in His Son Jesus Christ
He is the true God and eternal life
Dear children, keep yourselves from the idols of this world
"Reapers Kiss"
Life has passed by
Played games for your whole life now
You knew it all lead to this place
Silently you know you feared it
Will you pay or receive his loving grace
Time Is ticking
You’ve been left Behind (SCREAM)
Soon you'll know this was never about you
You and I just a moment in time
Life and death can both be so cruel
But the reward always fits the crime
You’d been warned all of your days
Do not listen to what these teachers are prophesying to you
They fill you with false hopes
