3 Days Under
'3 Days Under' hails from Kentucky and is a 4-piece Hard Rock band that originated back in 2016. The band was formed by frontman-Patrick Rivers with the other members joining shortly thereafter. '3 Days Under' is comprised of Lead Vocalist/Rhythm Guitarist-Patrick Rivers, Lead Guitarist-Kyle Ingle, Bassist-Jamie Adams, and Drummer-Nathan Frame. The band takes the idea for their moniker from the biblical concept of Jesus being dead and in the tomb for three days. Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."
To the band's credit, they can be heard playing on the radio all over the world including on stations in the United States, England, Poland, Austria, Germany, Australia, and many more.
In 2018 '3 Days Under' stepped onto the Rock scene with the release of their independent debut full-length self-titled album. 3 Days Under infuses a 90's era sound with the love of Christ to produce their brand of Hard Rock music. This 2018 release was recorded at Radical Sound Company and the album was produced & engineered by Mick Bryan. The band's overall sound comes across crisp and clear in the mix with good production. With this release and the arrangements within, it's easy to see that this is one band poised to Rock the night away.
Front and center for the band is Vocalist-Patrick Rivers whose infectious vocal style quickly captures ones attention. Rivers' delivery draws comparisons to such vocalists as Josh Fox(Lifeless To Life), Eddie Moles(Bone Prophet), and even Scott Stapp(Creed).
The guitar section is comprised of both Kyle Ingle on Lead Guitars & Patrick Rivers on Rhythm Guitars. Kyle & Rivers both do their part behind the 6-strings keeping this project heavy and Rockin. Love the melodic guitar play on this release. With that said, there are some sweet solo licks injected here and there by lead guitarist-Kyle Ingle.
4-stringer-Jamie Adams lays down some heavy Bass lines and it's rumored that every time he plays the earth quakes. Jamie does a great job of keeping the band's overall intensity and sound heavy from track to track.
Behind the kit for the band is none other than Percussionist-Nathan Frame who attacks the drums like his predecessors from the 80's and 90's Rock scene. Yes, I believe by the last track that Frame finally brought the skins under submission but it took a beating to do so!
Lyrics are both thought provoking and Christ centered
as one can see in the following excerpts:
as one can see in the following excerpts:
"Lay It Down"
I've been walkin, with a thirst on my tongue
And I've been searching, for water where there's none
But I've been trying, to follow the Son
But it keeps getting darker, no matter where I run
And every time I climb up out of this hole
The weight of my world it drags me down, back down
And it's been my pride that's left me so cold
Yet I hear you calling telling me to see
That I'm Lost in, the weight of your words
And I've been jaded, by the time spent without you
And I'm taken, back by it all, waiting for someone, to break my fall
So I can lay it all down
Lay it all down
Lay it all down
Lay it all down...
"Ready Or Not"
You’re not ashamed or dismayed
You celebrate your sin like it’s cool
You say we're insane to proclaim
The king of kings you say we’re all fools
You want it your way or no way
You think you can just make all the rules
But there’s one thing you can’t change
It’s Jesus Christ he died for you too
"The Fall" (Psalm 6)
Oh Lord do not rebuke me in anger
Nor Chasten me in your displeasure
Have mercy on me cause I am weak
Return oh Lord deliver me
And save me for your mercy sake
Or can you hear me from this grave
I've been walkin, with a thirst on my tongue
And I've been searching, for water where there's none
But I've been trying, to follow the Son
But it keeps getting darker, no matter where I run
And every time I climb up out of this hole
The weight of my world it drags me down, back down
