Godsent Humans is a Crossover band from McKinney, Texas that formed back in 1988 by bassist-James Rasmussen. Godsent Humans play Crossover Thrash in the veins of world renown crossover superstars - 'The Crucified'. Crossover Thrash(often abbreviated as Crossover) is a fusion genre of Thrash Metal and Hardcore Punk. The genre lies on a continuum between Heavy Metal and hardcore punk. Crossover takes the fun elements of Punk music and "crosses over" into the Thrash genre to combine some heavier elements in order to create the Crossover Thrash genre.
The band takes the idea for their moniker from text found in Mark 16:15 "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Godsent Humans believe they were sent by God to preach the gospel to the world through their music platform.

In 1988 Godsent Humans released a live 3-track demo cassette recording titled 'Repent or Die' on an indie label. The track-list for 'Repent or Die' includes 1. Red Light 2. Lord on High 3. Hypocrisy Madness. After the release of their '88 demo, over the next 3 years, the band continued developing their sound as they worked on new material. Then in 1991 Godsent Humans released their independent full-length 12-track demo titled 'Liberty or Death'. The statement “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” was originally coined by Patrick Henry in his famous speech back in 1775. "...What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" - Patrick Henry -
It's interesting that in Patrick Henry's speech, he was petitioning and calling Americans to arms to gain freedom of slavery from King George III of Great Britain. We find some similarities to Patrick Henry's situation within Godsent Humans' 1992 'Liberty or Death' demo. Godsent Humans are longing for mankind to petition to "King Jesus" to spiritually set them free from slavery and the bonds of sin.
