Fires Of Babylon is a super band project consisting of vocalist-Rob Rock(Impellitteri, Driver), guitarist-Lou St. Paul(Winters Bane), bassist-Kelly Conlon(Monstrosity), & drummer-Bob Falzano(Annihilator). These are the members that were chosen back in 2008 when the owner of 'Metal Heaven Records' asked Lou St. Paul to recruit musicians to do an 80's inspired side project.
Fires Of Babylon is a Technical Power Metal outfit that leans more toward the Western side of the Power Metal spectrum with heavier arrangements than most Power Metal bands from Europe.

In 2008 Fires Of Babylon released their debut full-length self-titled album on Metal Heaven Records. Vocalist Rob Rock does a good job going from his mid range vocals to his sopranic higher end register reminding fans why he is 'The Voice of Melodic Metal'.
The fast Power Metal riffs really stand out on this debut album with guitarist-St. Paul lighting up his six string instrument every chance he gets. The guitar section is offered up from a duo guitar approach and we all know that having two guitars is always better than one. However, the band's lineup only lists one guitarist-St. Paul who makes use of some overdubbing techniques to create the illusion of a second guitarist. Paul's guitar play is memorial going from lightening fast to heavy to chugging almost Doom sounding Riffs to 80's style solos that help to round out the arrangements. There are some special moments on this debut when our guitarist unleashes some punishing Thrash style play in the tunes "Holy Resurrection" & "Lake of Fire". In addition, within the tune "Going Through Changes", our axe bearer shows his knowledge of the Power Metal genre where we find the tune going back and forth between a lighter European Power Metal style and a heavier Western Power Metal style.
Drummer-Bob Falzano does a fine job of keeping time for the band as he mercilessly pounds the skins into submission. Within the song "Falling to Pieces", we find Bob changing things up a bit by incorporating a hammer/pounding method much like that used by traditional Thrash bands. Falzano also delivers some fast technical kit work throughout much like what we find that drummer-Rickard Gustafsson adds to Golden Resurrection's albums.

The bands lyrical content is as strong as their music. This is some
of the most upfront lyrics Rob Rock has ever produced as one can see in the following lyric excerpts:

"When the Kingdom Comes"
When the Kingdom comes, the dead in Christ shall rise
We’ll hear the trumpet call; we’ll meet Him in the sky
When the Kingdom comes, the whole wide world will see
Like a flash before our eyes- immortality
Where is the sting of death? Where’s the victory?
The truth is a miracle, the Lord has set us free
Set us free!
"Lake of Fire"
Adversary of the human race
Recruiting fools and the blind
Give account someday what you have done
Have you ignored all the signs?
Unbelievers shake their first and curse
Their conscience whispers what is right
Before the throne reveals the second death
Is your name found in the book of Life?
"Holy Resurrection"
Carpenter from Nazareth
How can I believe in You?
Legendary tale or myth
How can such a story be true?
Opening my eyes, conviction in my heart
Holy Spirit calling me
Road is wide to ruin, Faith and hope are given
Narrow is the way to life
