Faith Head is a Hard Rock/Metal band from Chattanooga, TN that was founded in 2016 by Bassist-Patrick Shipley(aka PFunk). The band is known for their high energy and driving guitar riffs.
Faith Head chose their band's moniker after a couple of years following a series of disbanded groups, PFunk was listening to an apologist on the radio and heard these fateful words. “The world thinks we’re all just a bunch of faith heads!” Later that evening after going the Urban Dictionary and some Google Searchs, the Holy Spirit starting speaking to him. After sharing His vision for Faith Head and many months of prayers and patiently waiting, God finally moved all the pieces together for these four individuals to become one unit.
With just two releases to their credit Faith Head has already racked up a list of accolades. The Band's 2016 debut album 'Are you a Faith Head?' landed at #6 on Metal Pulse Radio's Top 10 album of the Year. In 2017 Faith Head was nominated by Independent Artist Magazine for 'Best Male Artist' of the year. The band was featured in the documentary 'Metal Missionaries' in September 2017. The group also toured on the southeast leg of 'The Extreme Tour' in 2017. Faith Head was the first Christian hard rock act to perform at the 'Gospel Spin Awards' in Atlanta, GA in October 2017.
In 2019 Faith Head released their follow-up sophomore 5-track EP simply titled 'Genesys'. With the release of 'Genesys' the most notable change comes by way of original vocalist-Jason Beaver leaving the band and being replaced by vocalist-Jimmie Webb in 2018. With a new vocalist fronting the band, Faith Head has moved away from their classic/traditional Rock sound and has embraced a more modern day Rock vibe within their vocals & arrangements. If I had to compare the band's sound along with Jimmie Webb's delivery to another band, the closest comparison that comes to mind is with the band Lordchain and vocalist-Kelly Matthews.
When one observes the album's cover art with the image of a hand holding up what appears to be the Earth, one is reminded of how grand and big our God really is. We are reminded of the fact that Jesus is in control of our lives and that He is in control of the world's ultimate destiny. In Isaiah 41:10 we find "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
"The album reflects much of what we see happening in the world today. Is it the beginning of the end or just a dress rehearsal for Armageddon? The music is the band’s response to culture and social media as they see the system breaking down and people becoming more polarized."
"Unlike their contemporaries Faith Head does not hide behind a selective use of pronouns to mask the biblical worldview of the lyrics nor use graphic and provocative imagery in a marketing attempt to attract listeners. Faith Head’s job is to praise the name of Jesus Christ through song and word and
His job is to do the drawing of listeners."
“We focus equally on both the music and the message, If the music sucks, then no one will care about the message. If the message is weak or watered down, then the music doesn't matter.”

Lyrics are thought provoking and overtly Christ centered as can be seen in the following lyric excerpts:
"Mindless Automatons"
The world says conformity
Is the only answer
But it consumes your identity
Like a fast spreading cancer
Stop trying to fit in to
their mediocre mold
Or one day you will wake
And find your forehead sold
The only path to freedom
Is through the heavenly Father
In your vast desert wasteland
He’s your cool drink of water
Lyrics: Jason Beavers, Patrick Shipley, Jimmie Webb
Music: Jason Beavers, Donny Raines, Patrick Shipley, Gabriel Gardner
"Old Sin, New Skin"
Since the dawn of man
Sin is wrapped in ribbons and bows
Dressed up for the masses
A wolf in sheep’s clothes
Drawn away by our own devices
In a corner with nowhere to run
But in the end there are no surprises
There’s nothing new under the sun
It’s an old sin in a new skin
Old taboos into new trends
Old sin in a new skin
Old lies told with new twist
A white washed tomb
Full of dead men’s bones...
Lyrics: Patrick Shipley, Jason Beavers, Jimmie Webb
Music: Donny Raines, Patrick Shipley, Gabriel Gardner
"Rise Up"
It just takes one brave soul
No one special, just the bold
Your story is yet to be told
Philippians 4:13 is calling
Catch His Spirit in the wind
Let it burn inside you
Darkness must yield to the light
So now Rise, Rise up!
Take the enemy by surprise
You got to Rise, Rise up!
