Holter formed back in 2002 in Argentina, Ituzaingo where they deliver up a healthy dose of Melodic Heavy Metal. With their origins in Argentina, Holter's lyrics are all written and sung in Spanish. I have searched hard in the past years for Latino bands that have a solid sound accompanied by a solid vocalist and mostly came up empty handed. However, Holter is primed & poised to change this unfortunate scenario with their killer explosive sound.
When it comes to the band's moniker, Holter had the following to say: "The holter is a device that is placed in the heart to detect faults. For that same reason we decided to apply the name to the band's moniker. Since we do not only seek to make good music, but also to share a message to this society devoid of values and good attitudes in the heart. We believe that only God can heal and restore the wounded heart, producing full and true peace; And an abundant, meaningful life. At this time in which the following models have been extinguished. We present Jesus as our referent in life. Who never came to present a religion (as many believe) but to love, forgive, and give a new opportunity to anyone who wants to start again."
Holter already has a number of recordings to their credit. In 2007 Holter stepped onto the music scene with the release of their self-titled 4-track demo. After recording their demo project, it would be another four years before fans would hear from the band again. In 2011 Holter released their first full-length album titled 'Esperanza De Libertad' which features 10-tracks. Not long after the release of their debut album, the band entered the studio an got to work on material for a follow-up recording.
In 2014 Holter released their 4-track EP simply titled 'Marca Perpetua'. This release finds the band in top form delivering up some solid Heavy Metal/Power Metal offerings. One thing that helps Holter stand out from other Latino bands is vocalist-Cristian Lella's strong vocal delivery throughout this release while singing in his heart language - Spanish. The frontman position is a make or break component for any band so, without question, it is of the up most importance to have the best vocalist possible. With that said, it's also extremely important that the vocalist fits with the genre the band is trying to achieve. The band's line-up for this EP is comprised of vocalist/guitarist-Cristian Lella, guitarist-Juan Gutierrez,
bassist-Marcos Avila, and drummer-Braian Lella.
The track-list for 'Marca Perpetua' includes 1.Voces 2.Derribando el pasado 3.Sanar el corazón 4.Registro al placer.

Another quality that stands out here is the production which comes across as crisp and well executed. The guitars are feast to be had with every instrument ringing loud and clear without dominating the other.
"Estoy Aqui"
"I Am Here"
In a long career to the end You may stumble or faint Discontent occupies the first place And the victory greets you to the beyond Submerged by despair In the mud of impotence and pain Spread your hand outwards And there is no hand that answers your cry When you feel that your dream is destroyed When you feel that fear consumes you When you want someone to listen to you Struck by life without finding A real reason to love Discontent occupies the first place And the victory greets you to the beyond Submerged by despair In the mud of impotence and pain Spread your hand outwards And there is no hand that answers your cry When you feel that your dream is destroyed When you feel that fear consumes you When you want someone to listen to you I Am here waiting for you Do not run anymore just run with Me I Am here and I was on the cross for you Determined to play Me to the end I am here, place your trust in Me Free or slave you have to choose |
Holter is an up and coming band and one to keep an eye on. With the release of their 2014 four track EP the band has left me hungry for more. So hopefully will see more from this Argentinian band soon!
